Biodiesel output strong in Q2; producers start locking in Q3-Q4 sales
A second producer echoed this sentiment and said they have had to work a bit harder to secure feedstock to line it up with sales at the right time.

The market has witnessed a historic collapse in soybean oil prices this week and today’s 5.5 cent drop today further pressured distiller’s corn oil values lower. RIN prices fell today as well and the combination of the two markets tumbling have contributed to lower prices in the animal fats market this week. High temps and well sold positions have limited activity in the renderer BFT market. Technical tallow was offered at 61 cents Chicago today, but the offer could not be confirmed. The bulk of the market remains frozen with sellers unable or unwilling to sell. A number of buyers are sitting the market out, waiting for the fevered sell off to show signs of slowing before stepping in to make purchases.
