Animal Proteins – International

Meat and bone meal traded at lower prices into China and Indonesia this week. Lower priced offers out of the US into Indonesia and COVID disruptions around Asia have contributed to the move lower. Sellers are offering material as high as $560 CIF Jakarta, but those offers remain untraded.

The COVID disruptions and lower prices into Southeast Asia have contributed to lower prices in the Australian market for MBM despite tighter supplies of bovine material. Slaughter remains well behind 2018 – 2019 levels. The MLA estimated last week’s slaughter at 90,631 head. Aquaculture demand continues to support the poultry protein markets and there were no changes reported this week. Prices would likely move higher if sellers had more spot material to trade.
