DCO Production Hits Two Month High

Yellow grease prices are higher out of the Illinois and Missouri River markets today. Sellers have been able to push prices higher, narrowing the spread to CWG out of the Mo. River market. Trucks FOB Mo. River continue to trade in the low 50’s for both local biodiesel and feed, but sellers moving material in rail cars are able to fetch the 58 Chicago value or higher for material headed into the Gulf market. 

Distillers corn oil prices traded higher out of the NE/KS and IN/OH markets late yesterday and today, topping out at 63 FOB. Some of the enthusiasm that was present in yesterday’s market has eroded on the lower energy and soybean oil futures prices today, but both buyers and sellers agree that the market is firm and the risk for higher prices remains. 

 The EIA estimated ethanol production at 978 thousand barrels per day for last week, the highest estimate since the week ending August 6th. The Jacobsen estimates DCO production at 9.28…
