Organic corn prices are continuing to remain elevated. Prices in the mid-West are bid above $9.50 per bushel. The folklore story of the bullish farmer remains intact in 2021, and bins are likely full. It’s unlikely that more than 40% of the organic corn for the current marketing season is priced.

Organic corn prices have transacted close to $12 per bushel in Texas for Q1, and most organic corn is already contracted. Merchandisers in the Texas region tell Fastmarkets/The Jacobsen that organic corn in Texas is likely to be entirely consumed by Q1. This situation will likely put further upward pressure on organic corn prices in the region. Organic corn prices on the West Coast are quoted as high as $12.90 per bushel. Transportation costs remain elevated.  Prices are at these levels on the West Coast because the region relies on imported organic corn from either the mid-West or outside the United States.
