December Soybean Crush Reaches All-Time High

Soybean Crush Hits New Record and Soybean Oil Stocks Jump to 20-Month High

The National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) US December soybean crush reached a record high for any month and exceeded market expectations.  Analysts had forecast the crush to rise three percent to 185 million bushels, which would have been the second highest monthly crush on record.  However, final crush tabulations showed the crush at 186.438 million bushels, a gain of nearly four percent from November surpassing the previous high of 185.245 million bushels reached in October of 2020.  The December 2021 crush was 1.8 percent above the December 2021 crush. 

The USDA left the 2020/21 and 2021/2022 crush expectations unchanged in the latest WASDE report.  The 2021/22 crush is expected to reach 2.19 billion bushels of soybeans, a 2.29 percent…
