Palm Oil Rallies as Floods Trump Strong Production Numbers

Palm oil prices continued to edge higher at the beginning of the week as floods in Malaysia trumped the recent data from the USDA on bean oil inventories.  Generally vegetable oil prices follow the lead of bean oil which is the benchmark, but the floods, which were the worst in four decades, has reduced Malaysia’s output in December the most in eight years.
