Malaysian palm oil exports jump 53%, palm prices fall

Palm oil exports soared 53% higher to 1.07 million metric tons, continuing on the rapid pace seen over the first half of the month. May 1 through 20 exports are 368,722 metric tons more than what was shipped during the same April time frame. Demand for crude palm oil (CPO) continues to be the market driver this month. CPO shipments are up 791% month over month, which translates to 331,043 MT more in exports.
