Animal Fats – International

Australian values, both domestic and export, were reported firm this week. The exchange rate is relatively unchanged from last week, which has helped keep prices flat. Cattle slaughter is off 11% compared to the week prior, but up 4% compared to the same week last year. Sources have reported improved pasturing conditions in the south, which may keep some cattle on the range longer, but northern abattoirs look to remain busy through July.
