Soybean Crush Central Illinois

The crush margin jumped nearly 10% and is up 17% over the past two weeks. Falling soybean prices are collapsing at a faster rate than either soybean oil or soybean meal values. The value received from oil and meal sales, per bushel of soybeans crushed, dropped by 33 cents per bushel, while the price of soybeans declined by 53 cents per bushel. This allowed the estimated margin to increase by 20 cents, or 10% per bushel.
