Heating Oil Prices Surge on Large Crude Oil Draw

Heating oil prices surged on Wednesday following a larger than expected draw in crude oil inventories reported by the Department of Energy.  Prices surged as demand for product also increased, while import declined allowing stocks to decline.  Domestic production also declined in the wake of last week’s Baker Hughes rig count report which showed an additional 10 rigs were taken off line.
