Biodiesel margins rise, but window of opportunity limited
Biodiesel margins continued to rise during the week to Friday November 22. The bean oil/heating oil (BOHO) spread boosted margins by falling to its lowest level since August 27.
The crush margin surged higher over the past week, climbing 16% on rising meal and oil values. Meal prices in the past two weeks have jumped from $274 per ton to $330. This is quite a move, especially after spending months with prices pinned between $260 and $277 per ton.
