Market Activity

Trading today was limited to the Mid South feathermeal market, which saw action as low as $340 and ruminant MBM whicih traded at $265 FOB Panhandle. Sources around the globe appear a bit more optimistic coming out of the VIV conference, but local US demand seems steady at best. Today’s 441,000 head is 1,000 head better than last Monday’s hog slaughter, continuing the trend of strong production ahead of the Easter holiday.
