Crop Progress – Slow – 6% of the corn and cotton crops, as well as 5% of spring wheat has been planted

Planting has been moving at a slow pace as farmers continue to wait for better planting opportunities. Rain has been limiting the time in which farmers can get into the fields, leaving many waiting for drier and warmer soil conditions. The corn crop is currently 6% planted. This is 6 points behind last year’s pace and 3 points behind the five-year average of 9%….
