Weekly Slaughter Analysis
Hog slaughter continues to run at a strong pace with an estimated 2.6 million head processed last week. Kills are up 2.5% on the year, just shy of 116 million head. The holiday slowdown should start to kick in this week with kills anticipated to drop to 2.2 million head this week and staying near the 2.1 million head mark until the week ending Jan 12.
