Trading was quiet to start the week.
Hog slaughter finished last week at an estimated 2.6 million head, up 1.5% from the week prior and 4.5% from the same week in 2017. Slaughter is expected to take a big drop next for the Thanksgiving holiday, but will return to big numbers heading into late December.
