Organic Soybean Imports Decline in January; but Demand Remains Robust

 

Organic whole soybean imports declined 15% month over month in January, and 74% year over year according to estimates by The Jacobsen. The dip should benefit domestic producers, who continue to enjoy prices near $18.50 per bushel (The Jacobsen mid-west picked up at the farm). Soybean meal demand remains buoyed keeping prices near the $830 per ton for domestic meal at a mid-west crusher.
