Idled Plants Tightening Fat Supplies

Trading was mostly quiet today with both buyers and sellers focused fulfilling already committed volumes in the face of plant closures. As of this afternoon, The Jacobsen is estimating that in terms of weekly production 7.5 million pounds of inedible tallow production and 1.6 million pounds are currently idled.  Tallow was quiet today but the big drop in production adds significant risk to the nearby market for higher prices.
