Packer BFT Moves Higher on Tight Supplies

Chicago packer BFT traded higher today in three cars. Choice white grease trading was done steady into the Chicago market today, two cars. Tech tallow has been quiet and supplies are likely tight with cattle slaughter estimated at 73 percent of year prior levels this week. Sellers short on material and buyers in the chemical sector with limited optionality are likely to keep prices supported in the nearby market, but a lack of demand from other sectors and the eventual resumption of production add risk for lower prices in May. With RBD soybean oil prices suggested as low as 30 delivered, tech tallow above a 33 – 34 cents range would likely be a pass for renewable producers based on LCFS feedstock credit…
