Organic corn prices remain subdued hovering near the $7/$7.25 per bushel price picked up at the farm in the mid-west. As one moves east the prices are slightly higher. In the eastern mid-west prices are hovering closer to $7.50. Organic corn prices in the Pennsyvania region are trading near the $340/345 per short-ton for spot trade. There appears to be a small carry for Q4, pushing prices closer to $350.
While the demand for organic livestock remains robust, there could be a pullback in supply given the concerns producers and municipalities that slaughter houses will continue to be a breading ground for COVID-19. The recent pullback in organic chicken slaughtered and the reduction across the US of slaughter operations (mainly conventional), might create a trend in the reduction of slaughter.
