Ethanol & DDGS – Ethanol/DDGS Output Down Nearly 500,000 Barrels Per Day in Six Weeks

For the week ending 4/24/20

  • Ethanol production declines to 537,000 bpd; Lowest on Record
  • Gasoline demand rises 10% to 5.8 million bpd
  • Ethanol Stocks move lower for first time in five weeks – 26.3 million barrels

According to the EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report, ethanol production declined 26,000 barrels per day to a 537 million-barrel-per-day average during the week ending April 24, 2020. Production reached a new all-time low as it continues to seek a bottom.  Ethanol output is down 487,000 barrels per day, or 48 percent, from last year at this time and down five percent from last week.  DDGS output fell 4.6 percent for the week and is 48 percent below levels at from a year ago.
