DCO prices strengthen as output, ethanol production decline on week
Prices for US animal fats and oils held steady to higher on Wednesday January 29, with much of the day's trade concentrated in the distiller’s corn oil (DCO) markets.
While bids for spot organic corn mid-west picked up at the farm remain depressed, there could be a location divergence occurring. While there is little spot trade activity, new crop prices in the northeast and mid-Atlantic near south-central PA are approximately 360 a short ton, or 10.08 per bushel. The Jacobsen believes transportation to the mid-west, puts Q4 prices of organic corn in a range between $7.15 and $7.35. This is approximately $0.25 higher than current levels.
