Hog Slaughter Forecast Close to 2019 Levels

Hog slaughter finished last week at an estimated 2.442 million head, up one percent from a year ago levels. Slaughter is forecast to trend higher relative to the prior six weeks over the next six weeks. The harvest is projected at 2.45 million head this week and down to 2.35 million head on the week ending July 18th.
