Crop Progress – Corn & Soybean Conditions Improve 

Corn:

  • 97 percent planted
  • 89 percent emerged
  • 75 percent good to excellent

Planting progress converges toward average pace as completion nears. Seventeen of 18 planting states are over 90 percent complete with four states having reached 100 percent. Planting is up four points from last week, three points over the 5-year average, and 19 points above last season’s pace. North Dakota made the most progress, planting 14 percent of the crop. Topsoil moisture is adequate throughout the Midwest and most of the Plains region.  The condition of the corn crop improved, edging a point higher to 75 percent in the good to excellent category and holding steady at four percent in the poor to very poor category.  This is an…
