Feathermeal Market Moves Lower

“Fighting for a home” has been the most commonly heard phrase around the market the past couple of weeks and this week has certainly not been an exception. A resurgence of production in the protein harvest has pushed more animal proteins into the market. Feathermeal prices out of the Mid South market are down $70 or 21 percent over the last four weeks. Prices are on track to hit the lowest June monthly average since 2007. At an average price of $260, feathermeal has a relative price to soybean meal of 79 percent, which is 53 points under the prior three year average for June. The…
