Organic Corn Prices Ease Despite Rising Demand

 

Organic corn prices continue to trade under pressure and have eased in the North East. Merchandisers are reporting prices in the South Central PA region near $320 per short ton delivered for Q1. The range of prices in the region continues to show that the pandemic continues to generate volatility. The Jacobsen has also heard prices trade as high as $350 per short-ton for Q3. Organic feed wheat prices are now nearly the same as organic corn prices.  

The demand for organic products at supermarkets continues to gain traction. The question is whether this will spill over into additional feed demand. To determine if this could occur, the Jacobsen conducted its organic livestock survey during the spring of 2020.
