Export Sales Rise as China Steps Back in Market

 

Weekly Export Sales 

Soybean export sales for the 2019/20 marketing year of 952.2 thousand metric tons (TMT), were 710.5 TMT above last week’s total and 60 percent over the four-week average of 596 TMT. New crop sales totaled 382.1 TMT, lifting total sales to 1,334.3 TMT.  Combined crop year sales were 23 percent over last week’s but within analyst estimates that ranged from 800 to 1,400 TMT. 2019/20 export commitments are 102 percent of the USDA revised forecast. Export sales are five percent below the 2018/19 crop year pace. Major purchases were reported for China, Indonesia, and Pakistan.

Soybean meal sales for the 2019/20 marketing year of 124.4 TMT were 18.6 TMT below last week’s total and nine percent below the prior four-week average of 136 TMT. New crop sales were 73.5 TMT, lifting total sales to 197.9 TMT. Combined crop year sales were 27 percent over last week’s report and within analyst…
