Organic Wheat Prices Continue to Slip

Organic wheat prices have eased with organic feed wheat trading down to $6.0 picked up at the farm, with offers coming in near $6.25 according to Merchandisers. With the organic wheat harvest coming to a close there appears to be robust supply available. Organic corn prices remain stable near $7 picked up at the farm in the mid-west and prices for organic corn new-crop are similar.

Transportation prices are also up this week. Operation Safe Driver Week is still scheduled for July 12-18. This has helped buoy truck fees going east from the mid-west by approximately $1,000 per load. The International Roadcheck is an annual three-day event when CVSA-certified inspectors conduct compliance. Many truckers have taken the week off to avoid the hassle according to Merchandisers.
