Biomass-Based Diesel – What Pandemic?

 

Biomass-based diesel June EMTS 5% over May & 7% above June 2019

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) showed renewable fuel consumption continued to benefit as the economy moved forward during June. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) credit generation increased 20 percent from May with 1.5 billion credits recorded and is 43 percent above the March low.  Volumetric consumption in June of 1.37 billion gallons was 22 percent over May output and 49 percent above the pandemic low in March.  All fuel codes other than Advance Biofuel experienced an increase.  Cellulosic consumption increased 10, biomass-based diesel was up 5 percent, and ethanol rebounded with a 28 percent increase.   The advanced biofuel code saw volume decline 22 percent and RIN generation fall 25 percent.  This was primarily due to a 52 percent decline in renewable diesel imports during June, which would suggest that the…
