DCO prices strengthen as output, ethanol production decline on week
Prices for US animal fats and oils held steady to higher on Wednesday January 29, with much of the day's trade concentrated in the distiller’s corn oil (DCO) markets.
The market was fairly quiet today with few changes reported. Choice white grease did trade higher out of the Missouri River market with biodiesel demand continuing to pull the market higher. At an average of 20.75 cents FOB, the increased demand from biodiesel shouldn’t be a surprise. A relative price of 71 percent is 18 points under the prior three-year average for July and 16 points under the prior three-year average for August. Tight, cash soybean oil supplies are also pushing more demand into the choice white market for fuel production….
