Organic soybean prices are hovering near $610 FOB India, up slightly over the last two weeks. The harvest in India is expected to be robust, which generally weighs on prices this time of year. Organic soybean meal prices remain steady, with prices experiencing wide ranges throughout the mid-west. Prices are as low as $760 picked up at the crush in Indiana and as high as $820 per short ton in Minnesota. With few old crop beans being crushed, since there are no old crop beans around, meal prices are a function of Indian beans and Indian bean meal.
What appears to be keeping prices relatively elevated is transport. Transport from Nhava Sheva remains near the $100 per metric ton level, making it difficult for prices to dip.
