Vegetable Oils Account for 85 Percent of June Feedstock

 

EIA June 2020 Biodiesel Production & Feedstock Use

The Energy Information Administrationโ€™s (EIA) Biodiesel Production Report showed 151 million gallons of US biodiesel produced from 1.14 billion pounds of feedstock in June. Biodiesel production was 2.7 percent over May while feedstock consumption increased 2.4 percent. June biodiesel production was 6.3 percent above levels from a year ago. The ratio of feedstock used per gallon of biodiesel produced, narrowed from 7.54 pounds to 7.52 pounds per gallon.

According to the EIA, production came from 90 biodiesel plants, up one plant from last month, with a capacity to generate 2.514 billion gallons. This indicates that production, as a percent of capacity was 72 percent. Monthly domestic production capacity, per the EIA is 209.5 million gallons.
