DDGS Output Slows Despite Improved Ethanol Margins

 

Ethanol and DDGS Weekly Production Run 

Ethanol production declined 9,000 barrels per day to a 922 million-barrel-per-day average during the week ending August 28, 2020.  Ethanol and DDGS output pulled back from a three-week high and gasoline slipped back from the post pandemic high it reached last week. Ethanol production was one percent below last week’s report and nine percent below levels at this time last year. DDGS output fell 856 metric tons per day and was 8,655 MT below production from a year ago. 

Gasoline supply declined four percent and was seven percent below 2019 levels for the same weekly period. Ethanol stocks grew 2.3 percent but are 12 percent under levels from a year ago. Ethanol imports continued for a second consecutive week on the West Coast with more than 10.5 million gallons arriving during the past week.
