Trading was quiet coming off of the long holiday weekend. Indications for the week are higher, but again, trading was quiet today. 

Cattle slaughter finished last week at a robust 633,000 head, up 11 percent from a year ago and down 3 percent relative to the year prior. Slaughter is forecast to move lower over the next six weeks.
