Organic corn prices in the mid-west remain subdued trading near $6 per bushel in several locations through out the region. There is plenty of corn available and there is no carry for the balance of the fall into Q4. Prices in the east are also subdued as plenty of organic corn has either come from Argentina or has moved west. Merchandisers are also saying that new crop corn is coming up from the south at current prices near $850 per bushel.
Demand Remains Subdued Despite Rising Organic Egg Production
Organic egg production is on the rise and continues to trend higher according to The Jacobsen. Organic egg weekly production has increased approximately 4% year over year for the 12-months ending August 31. Most of the strength in the gains in organic egg production has come during the 6-months since the pandemic has spread throughout the United States. Organic egg production in the US is now at the highest levels seen since 2016.
