Cattle Slaughter Forecast to Trend Slightly Under 2019 Levels Through November

Trading was quiet to start the week with no changes in the animal protein market. 

Cattle slaughter finished last week at a robust 654,000 head, up 1.7 percent from a year ago and up 2.7 percent relative to the year prior. Slaughter is projected to trend slightly higher over the next five weeks ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday at 648,000 head before falling to 575,000 head the week ending November 28th….
