Organic Wheat Prices in Europe Move Higher

 

Organic wheat demand is strong in Europe and merchandisers are having a difficult time finding the product. Organic whet prices have jumped 30-Euros per metric ton in the past month, rising from 195-euros per metric ton to 225-euros per metric ton. Merchandisers are telling The Jacobsen that most consumers are covered for the balance of 2020 but are looking for organic wheat for Q1 2021. European organic corn prices are stable. Organic corn prices out of Constanta remains steady at 240-euros per metric ton. Organic corn prices out of Ukrain are trading closer to 215-euros per metric ton (up 15-20 euros in the past month).

The run-up in European conventional grain prices for wheat on the Matif, has helped buoy European organic wheat prices. This issue has also occurred in the US which is experiencing a wide disparity of organic wheat prices.
