Blood Meal Prices up 9 Percent

With the exception of DRT from late yesterday, the animal protein market was sideways today. Prices remain well supported with soybean meal up again today and at one point, above the $390 mark. Ruminant blood meal prices out of the Missouri River market were up 9 percent this week and the monthly average for October is up to a relative price to soybean meal of 197 percent. Seasonally, the relative price has historically dropped in the fourth quarter and the month to date average of 197 percent is 14 points over the prior three year average for October and 10 points over the prior three year average for November.
