Corn & Soybean Meal Exports Surpass Expectations

 

Weekly Export Sales 

Soybean export sales for the 2020/21 marketing year of 2,225.5 thousand metric tons (TMT) were 351.1 TMT below last week’s total and 18 percent below the four-week average of 2,724 TMT. There were no sales for the 2021/22 crop season, leaving total sales at 2,225.5 TMT.  Combined crop year sales were 14 percent below last week’s total but within analyst estimates that ranged from 1,200 to 2,500 TMT. 2020/21 export commitments are 76 percent of the USDA forecast. Export sales are noticeably above the 2019/20 crop year pace. Major purchases were reported for Egypt, China, and Germany.

Soybean meal sales for the 2020/21 marketing year of 321.9 TMT were 170 TMT over last week and four percent above the prior four-week average of 310 TMT.
