Organic Soybean Meal Prices Remain Volatile

 

Organic soybean meal prices remain volatile, and price discovery for soybean meal from India continues to experience wide swings. Shipping costs have also continued to move from day today. Exporters are experiencing day to day general rate increases. During the past 3-days, Jacobsen has heard shipping rates from Nhava Sheva to Baltimore as high as $150 per metric ton to as low as $120 per metric ton. Additionally, prices for Q1 are buoyed. The Jacobsen has heard prices near $630 per metric ton, as low as $610 per metric ton, and as high at $670 per metric ton. Q1 organic soybean meal is offered in Baltimore at $735 per short ton for November and December and rising to $750 per short ton for the Q1.  Mid-west organic soybean meal that is domestically grown is offered near $745 per short ton in Michigan and as high as $820 per short ton in Wisconsin.
