North America Set to Overtake Europe in Renewable Diesel Capacity

The US and North America have always trailed Europe when it comes to biomass-based diesel. Whether it was policy or production, it seemed that the North American market was two or three steps behind.  This may be overly simplistic but not too far off in a general sense.

With the downturn in oil consumption and many refiners looking to improve margins through the production of renewable diesel. Competitors find themselves in a race to take advantage of California’s LCFS market, Canada’s upcoming national LCFS program, and/or the onset of Europes renewable jet fuel mandates (two locations).  Following the trend of trailing Europe, could US sustainable jet fuel mandates be far behind?  With all the new positioning taking place, North America is becoming a hotbed for future renewable diesel production activity.
