Chicago technical tallow prices are lower on trading for two cars today. The Chicago tech spot market has been quiet over the last month, but demand from the West Coast and Gulf markets remain strong for renewable and export demand. The bleachable fancy tallow prices are unchanged, with the month coming to close on a steady note. The monthly average BFT price was higher in October relative to September for just the 3rd time in the last 13 years.
The EIA released the monthly biodiesel production report for August 2020 today. B100 production was estimated at 163 million gallons, the highest monthly production total since December of 2018. The sales to production ratio of 55.7 percent is behind 2018 and 2019 levels, which were 58.6 and 57.3 percent, respectively.
