DDGS Output Slows on Ethanol Production Pull-Back

 

Sugarcane Ethanol Imports Disappear After Yearly High Last Week

Ethanol production declined 15,000 barrels per day to a 962 million-barrel-per-day average during the week ending November 13, 2020.  Ethanol and DDGS volumes consolidated below last week’s post-pandemic high for output.  Ethanol production was 1.5 percent below last week’s output and 6.9 percent below levels seen at this time last year. DDGS output fell 1,427 metric tons per day and was 6,753 MT below daily production a year ago. 

Gasoline supply declined 5.75 percent and was 10 percent below 2019 levels for the same period. Ethanol stocks increased to 20.2 million barrels, reaching a 11-week high. Imports of sugarcane ethanol disappeared on the West Coast during the week ending November 13. The decline in ethanol output reduced corn demand 222 thousand bushels per day.
