Australian Tallow Prices Balance Lower Bids, Tight Supply

Tallow prices out of Australia are unchanged this week, balanced between tight supplies and pressure for lower prices from buyers. Palm oil prices and lower production numbers support higher fat prices, but pressure from the buy side in China has kept the market anchored in place. Sales out of the New Zealand market were lower, pressured by the Chinese market, and, in turn, lower bids out of the renewable sector.

European UCO prices are lower as cheaper material coming in from Asia has pressured the interior price. Values are trading at a sub €700 level in some areas. Animal fat prices are steady to higher on higher palm and vegetable…
