Protein Prices Supported Ahead of Holiday Break

Ruminant MBM prices were higher today on good demand through into the first week of December. Soybean meal prices were off slightly today, but values are still supportive of steady to higher prices in both the ruminant and porcine MBM markets. Blood meal prices were higher this week on tighter production through the holiday and overall strength in the entire protein complex. There is risk building for lower prices with Class III milk futures plummeting 20 percent over the last seven trading sessions on the December contract.
