14.4 Million 480lb Bales of Cotton Harvested

Cotton: 

  • 84 percent harvested

The harvest is 84 percent complete, up seven points from last week and five points over the five-year average. The USDA expects production to reach 17.1 million 480-pound bales of cotton.  With 84 percent of the harvest complete, 14.4 million 480-pound bales have been harvested with 2.7 million remaining.  The harvest is five points over the historical average of 77 percent despite nearly half of the reporting states trailing their normal harvest pace.  Texas is 82 percent complete with the harvest and 14 points above their average pace.  Virginia is 62 percent complete and trails their average of 94 percent complete by 32 points.  Arkansas and Louisiana are the first two states…
