Feedstock Costs Underpin RIN Values

** Notice** The Jacobsen will discontinue reporting various price points beginning January 1, 2021. Regional biodiesel reporting as well as The Jacobsen B100 Index will be removed in favor of additional biodiesel and renewable diesel price points. Renewable Diesel (cents/gal) California LA will be eliminated along with Biodiesel LA CA dlvd ($/MT). International reporting will be adjusted to better reflect both the Renewable Diesel and Biodiesel Market.

 

Heating Oil and Crude at Pandemic Highs

Biodiesel RIN values seem to be lagging the move in the bean oil/heating oil spread (BOHO) by a day or so.  The 2020 biodiesel RIN was up about three percent or three cents last week, ending the week at 97.5 cents.  The BOHO spread fell 3.3 percent or nearly five cents to $1.37 per gallon.  Today, the 2020 biodiesel RINs slipped 2.5…
