Strong Biodiesel Production Underpins Soybean Oil Demand

 

Increased Renewable Diesel Production Lifts Renewable Fuels

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported 1.47 billion gallons of renewable fuel were consumed in November, a 2.4 percent increase from October and one percent over the volume produced in November of 2019. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) credit generation climbed 3.5 percent to 1.61 billion credits and was two percent above November 2019.   Increased renewable diesel production and stronger sugarcane ethanol imports helped drive the volumes higher.

Biomass-based diesel (D4) credit generation was up 17 percent on a 16 percent increase in volume. Increased renewable diesel production led the D4 category higher.  Biodiesel  and renewable jet fuel output was unchanged from October.  Advanced biofuel (D5) credit generation increased 26 percent, driven primarily by sugarcane ethanol imports and a sharp rise in naphtha…
