Organic CBD sales are trending higher, according to The Jacobsen. This scenario bodes well for organic hemp production. The number of organic hemp operations in the United States that describe themselves as organic surged over the past 2-years. Since the end of 2018, organic hemp operations have increased by 526% to 850, according to The Jacobsen. End-users are focused on several parts of the hemp market. The most significant catalyst is likely CBD.  Once CBD fully enters the food and drink market in the U.S., CBD sales will likely explode. Until then, it’s a waiting game. Organic hemp producers have seen organic hemp prices tumble as supply still outpaces demand. Additionally, by-products such as organic hemp seed grain still cannot be used in animal feed.
