DDGS Production Reaches 14-Week Low
Ethanol production declined 12,000 barrels per day to a 933 thousand-barrel-per-day average during the week ending January 22, 2021. DDGS and Ethanol volumes decreased as margins moved lower. Weekly output fell 1.3 percent and was nine percent below levels seen at this time last year. DDGS output declined by 1,141 metric tons per day and was 9,130 MT per day below production from a year ago.
Gasoline supply slipped 3.4 percent and was 11 percent below 2020 levels for the same period. Ethanol stocks declined to 23.62 million barrels, reaching a three-week low. There were no sugarcane ethanol imports on the West Coast for a sixth consecutive week. Reduced ethanol output lowered corn demand 178 thousand bushels per day.
