Organic Corn Imports Rise in December

According to the most recent data from the US Customs Department, organic corn imports increased by more than expected in December. Organic corn imports that arrived on US shores in December rose to 21,986 metric tons. Nearly all of the organic corn that was imported in December came from Argentina. More than 20K tons came from this destination compared to less than 2K tons imported from Canada.

The total volume of organic corn imports from Argentina during the 2020/2021 season is up to 44K metric tons. This volume compares to more than 66K metric tons that arrived in the US during the Q4 of 2019. The Jacobsen does not believe there were any shipments for import of organic corn from Argentina delivered in January, which would be in line with what occurred in 2020.
